Virage Logic names IBEX Technology as Japanese sales rep

TOKYO, JAPAN & FREMONT, USA: Virage Logic Corp. has named IBEX Technology (IBEX) as its sales representative in Japan.

IBEX previously worked with ARC International (acquired by Virage Logic in November 2009) where it was focused on servicing the video and multimedia requirements of Japan’s leading semiconductor and systems companies.

Building on its expertise in video and multimedia applications, IBEX will now represent Virage Logic’s entire product portfolio – including processor solutions, interface solutions, SRAMs and NVMs, embedded test and yield optimization solutions, logic libraries, and memory development software – to help ensure the Japan semiconductor market can fully leverage the benefits of working with a single source trusted IP supplier.

“As the semiconductor industry continues to disaggregate and focus on core competencies in order to meet narrow market windows and increase profitability, more and more industry leaders are looking to partner with an IP provider that can service a broad range of design requirements. With IBEX’s proven track record in working with the leading Japanese semiconductor and systems companies as ARC’s sales representative, it was a natural choice to partner with them to represent the entire Virage Logic product line in Japan,” said Brani Buric, executive vice president of marketing and sales for Virage Logic.

“Japan is an important market that historically has been responsible for producing a significant share of the world’s leading consumer products. We look forwarding to working with IBEX as we engage even more strategically with Japan’s leading semiconductor and systems companies, and growing fabless semiconductor company community, to meet the increasing demand for Virage Logic’s broad semiconductor IP product portfolio. As we recently communicated in our first quarter fiscal 2010 earnings announcement, Virage Logic is on track to double its 2009 revenue in fiscal 2010 with a projected $100M revenue year and Japan will represent an important component of that growth.”

“With our proven experience in the Japanese semiconductor and systems industries and our expertise in video and multimedia applications, we are looking forward to building on our previous relationship with ARC as we help Virage Logic expand its presence in Japan,” said Toshikazu Morita, Director of Engineering of IBEX Technology.

“As the Japanese semiconductor and systems companies continue to focus on their core competencies, they are looking to establish deep, strategic relationships with trusted providers. We look forward to representing Virage Logic, as the semiconductor industry’s trusted IP partner, in Japan with an ever increasing product portfolio.”
