IDT receives favorable ruling in patent action versus LSI Logic

SAN JOSE, USA: Integrated Device Technology Inc. (IDT) has announced a favorable ruling issued by the International Trade Commission (ITC) in a patent action brought by LSI Corp. against several semiconductor companies, including IDT.

In the ruling, the full commission of the ITC found that the patent claims asserted by LSI were invalid and has subsequently terminated the investigation.

Vince Tortolano, vice president and general counsel for IDT, said: “We are pleased with the ITC ruling in this matter. IDT places a great amount of respect and emphasis on the intellectual property of not only our company, but our entire industry.”

LSI had alleged that IDT and the other defendants in the action violated section 337 of the Tariff Act which prohibits the importation and sale of infringing products. Based on the finding of invalidity, the ITC Commission held that no violation of section 337 has occurred.
