BEIJING, CHINA: Analogix Semiconductor Inc., a manufacturer and innovator of high-performance analog and mixed signal devices for the digital media and communications markets, launched the first DP transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx), which support the VESA DisplayPort Standard version 1.2 High Bit Rate 2 (HBR2) mode.
Compared with DisplayPort 1.1a, the VESA DisplayPort version 1.2 supports higher bandwidth, greater color depths, improved EMI performance with smaller process technologies and lower cost.
The new standard defines a scalable digital display interface with optional audio and content protection capability for broad applications within PC and consumer electronic (CE) devices. The interface is designed to support both internal chip-to-chip and external box-to-box digital display connections.
The new devices from Analogix provide the 5.4 Gbps HBR2 feature. Additionally, they can also work in 4.05 Gbps if needed, and are compliant with DisplayPort 1.1a 2.7Gbps/1.62Gbps modes. Using these devices, customers can obtain greater resolutions and better performance. All functions have been successfully tested in Analogix Labs.
“Analogix Semiconductor has been a leader and innovator in high-speed SerDes design for many years,” said Ning Zhu, CTO of Analogix Semiconductor. “These new DisplayPort devices clearly demonstrate our superior mixed signal and robust SerDes design capabilities, and our continued leadership in this space.”
Available as standalone devices or IP cores, the new DisplayPort receiver and transmitter components compliment a growing portfolio of DisplayPort products and IP cores, such as ANX9832 DP to VGA converter, ANX9830 DP to HDMI converter, ANX9804 & ANX9805 Dual-mode DP 1.1a Transmitters.
Samples are available upon request.
