Rapid Bridge acquires QThink IC design

SAN DIEGO, USA: Rapid Bridge, an innovator in advanced semiconductor design and development processes, has made an asset purchase of QuantumThink Group, Inc., a San Diego-based, privately-held IC design services company with offices in San Jose and Bangalore, India. The acquisition will enable Rapid Bridge to offer its clients full front-to-back IC design services.

The acquisition of QThink will enable Rapid Bridge to provide a more robust suite of solutions to its customers. The combination of Rapid Bridge’s technology and products, along with QThink’s design service offerings and flexible business model, provides a compelling offering to the industry.

“The QThink acquisition is entirely complementary to Rapid Bridge’s business strategy,” said Massih Tayebi, CEO of Rapid Bridge. “The design services business is synergistic with our other product lines and will allow us to partner more closely with our customers. QThink has an excellent track record, a very talented engineering team, and direct access to top tier customers in our industry, from which we can expand our value-add as we continue to focus on leading-edge technologies.”

QThink offers full IC design services and has extensive experience in complex IC design methodologies, EDA tools, IP integration and deep sub-micron fabrication technologies. QThink has an impeccable reputation having completed hundreds of design projects at advanced nanometer nodes working with TSMC, UMC, Chartered and IBM foundries.

“We are pleased to be joining forces with Rapid Bridge,” stated Akbar Shokouhi, founder and CEO of QThink. “There are natural synergies between our products, services and core competencies. As part of Rapid Bridge, we will be able to expand our market reach and continue to offer leading-edge design services to our customers worldwide.”
