Semtech launches new platform of silicon voltage regulators for military apps

CAMARILLO, USA: Semtech Corp., a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, has received MIL-PRF-19500/356 qualification from Defense Supply Center Columbus, (DSCC) of its brand new 5W Zener diode voltage regulator platform.

The qualification adds 37 low, medium and high range Zener diodes (part numbers ranging from 1N4954 to 1N4990) to Semtech’s product line of DSCC-qualified protection discretes. Each of the parts features low dynamic impedance and low reverse leakage currents. Each voltage regulator is available in a small (3.56mm x 4.7mm max) hermetically sealed package and is available in JAN, JANTX or JANTXV versions.

“This launch marks the first new QPL products that Semtech has produced specifically for the aerospace and space markets in many years, and is the start of a number of new product introductions we will bring to market in the coming months,” said Jose Vargas, Vice President, Power Discretes Business for Semtech. “With this /356 qualification, Semtech is able to help overcome a market shortage for these devices and meet customer demand with our innovative technology and great customer service.”

The parts are produced in Semtech’s JANS certified facility and all qualified products will be listed in the Qualified Manufacturers List (QML) 19500.

The Semtech Power Discrete facility has been producing high-voltage military and commercial power discrete products since 1990. This facility holds certification to MIL-PRF-19500 and ISO 9001:2000 with AS9100:2004 Rev B.
