Xilinx India hosts Alliance Program event

BANGALORE, INDIA: Xilinx Inc. hosted a Xilinx Alliance Program event today, attended by 16 local design and development member companies. Led by Vin Ratford, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing & Business Development, and Xilinx India executives, the event focused on the company’s Targeted Design Platform strategy and roadmap at current 40/45nm and next-generation 28nm process technology nodes.

“We’re enthused by the rapid growth of our Alliance Program in the Asia Pacific, and especially in India, as an emerging hub for delivery of the Xilinx Targeted Design Platforms,” said Ratford. “Already, our investment in this growing community is resulting in faster deployment of logic, domain and market-specific FPGA-based applications for our customers worldwide.”

Xilinx Targeted Design Platforms put FPGAs into a new context, integrating chip-based IP, development tools, and boards into a unified solution to help customers significantly reduce R&D cycles and give them an edge in today's competitive markets.

Targeted Design Platforms enable software and hardware designers alike to leverage open standards, common design methodologies, development tools and run-time platforms. Engineers can pick and choose from a variety of options to jumpstart their designs, freeing them up to focus design talent on end product innovation and differentiation.

Alliance Program members in India play an important role in the Xilinx technology and business strategy, excelling in intellectual property development, turnkey design services, development boards, targeted reference designs, and enhancement and delivery of market-specific platforms for the company’s global customer base.

“Tata Elxsi specializes in providing integrated solutions to verticals such as wireless, consumer electronics, broadcast and automotive,” said Nitin Pai, Vice President, Marketing, Tata Elxsi. “When it comes to early delivery of solutions, platform vendors like Xilinx play a crucial role. Our partnership with Xilinx, in this regard, is very valuable with a potential for greater synergy.”

Attendees at the Alliance Program event included: Accord Software, CMC Ltd, CoreEL Technologies, GDA Technologies, HCL Technologies, iWave Systems, Mechatronics, Mindtree, Mistral Solutions, Processor Systems, Signion Systems, Silicon Interfaces, Tata Elxsi, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Teknosarus and Wipro.
