CHAD announces first WaferMate system sold into China

ANAHEIM, USA: CHAD Industries announced today that it has sold its first WaferMate automated wafer handling workcell to a customer location in China.

As the Chinese Semiconductor business ramps to increase its capabilities and capacities, automation is becoming more and more important. With the growth in China comes new wafer handling challenges. The WaferMate is designed to be easily modified and easily integrated into new advanced wafer processes.

CHAD Industries has been selling wafer handling equipment in China for the past five years, but this marks the first sale of the new WaferMate platform. The WaferMate platform provides a lower cost solution, with a suite of applications for thin wafer handling, warped wafer handling, loading and unloaded, and a number of other non-standard wafer handling capabilities.

“CHAD is delighted to have been selected by a customer in China to supply their wafer handling automation. This sale of our first WaferMate workcell in China marks a natural progression for CHAD as we expand our install base worldwide to support our OEM customers,” says Scott Klimczak, president of CHAD Industries.

“Over the years our OEM customers have relied on CHAD to provide the best equipment and support possible wherever their business takes them. We already have other wafer handler equipment installed in China, and other WaferMate installations throughout the Pacific Rim region, so we are naturally excited to receive this order to expand the WaferMate workcell presence into the Chinese domestic market.”

Using CHAD WaferMate workcells to automate any wafer handling process increases productivity and quality, while reducing material breakage due to manual handling.
