ZTE selects Siverge Networks’ Griffin chip solution for multi-service apps

HERZLIYA, ISRAEL: Siverge Networks, a leading supplier of advanced networking solutions, announced that its Griffin flagship product has been selected by ZTE Corp. for its multi service and wireless backhauling new products.

“ZTE selected the Griffin chip solution by Siverge Networks for multi-service applications,” said Yu Zhiyong, chief engineer at ZTE Mobile Carrier Network Product Department. “We expect to work with them for other systems to broaden our solution portfolio.”

“The unparalleled functionality, integration level and scalability of Siverge’s Griffin enables ZTE to provide its customers with unmatched small form factor, low power consumption and low cost,” said Nimrod Gindi, vice president of sales for EMEA & APAC at Siverge Networks. “The combination of ZTE's market-leading technology and Siverge’s advanced Griffin solution is an attractive mix across a broad set of transport and wireless backhauling applications.”

The project is a joint work of a Siverge Networks partner, Comtech Broadband, a leading distributor and engineering Services Company in China. This is part of Siverge’s rapid penetration into the Chinese market, strengthening its technical and business presence in this important region.

The Griffin family of chip solutions redefines the cost and performance for networking infrastructure, enabling customers to collapse different systems and line-cards into a single multi-service card, performing all the necessary transport and aggregation functions needed to create a bridge between legacy systems and new services and networks. The Griffin family of chip solutions, at its first year in the market, has already been selected by leading system manufacturers worldwide, pushing the edge of Transport and Carrier Ethernet systems one step forward.

Siverge Networks recently unveiled its low-cost, high-performance Universal Gateway solution for mobile backhauling infrastructure and evolving Carrier networks. The new offering, known as the SivGate, extends the Griffin family of products, enabling cost-efficient multi-service transport and aggregation solutions – starting with low-end wireless cell site collocation and aggregation, up to high speed complete multi-service gateway for the Access and Core. SivGate provides leading-edge capabilities, while reducing R&D effort and time-to-market for customers.
