Teridian Semiconductor, Future Electronics sign global distribution agreement

IRVINE, USA: Teridian Semiconductor, an industry leader in energy measurement, control, communication and advanced metering infrastructure, has signed a global distribution agreement with Future Electronics.

Under the terms of the agreement, Future Electronics (Future) will provide worldwide distribution of Teridian's complete product portfolio, which includes the company's smart metering products, energy measurement family and its networking and secure access product lines. The relationship goes into effect immediately for the US and Europe, followed by Asia and Japan on June 1, 2010.

Teridian's system on chip (SoC) solutions are in use today by more than 60 metering manufacturers and on more than 120 metering platforms. To date, Teridian has shipped in excess of 40 million units and has the largest market share of SoC metering devices. The company has leveraged its experience in smart metering technology and has made it available to OEMs developing products and appliances that enable energy measurement in the enterprise, data centers and the home.

The partnership between Teridian and Future broadens Teridian's global reach and provides Future with Teridian's award winning product line to enhance their existing energy solutions offering.

Future's focus on energy solutions, their global reach and technical support services were driving factors in Teridian's selection. Future's technical expertise enables them to promote and technically support complete energy solutions with Teridian's integrated circuits (ICs). Future is Teridian's first worldwide distributor and will focus on value added services across all Teridian product lines with a primary focus on the opportunities for energy measurement in data centers, enterprise solutions and home automation networks.
