PORTO ALEGRE, BRAZIL & MUNICH, GERMANY: CEITEC S.A and MunEDA today closed a licensing agreement in which CEITEC S.A will use the leading-edge MunEDA tool suite WiCkeD – designed for analysis, modelling, optimization and verification of integrated circuit designs – to develop analog, radio frequency (RF) and mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs). The WiCkeD tools ensure reliable, robust and very high-quality design transfers to new technologies in predictable and efficient ways.
“We expect that WiCkeD will be a key technology for our future success,” said Dr. Cylon Gonçalves da Silva, CEO of CEITEC S.A. “With WiCkeD, we are bringing world-class EDA technology to Brazil, which will help us compete on an international level with high confidence. It is essential to have access to such technology that enables us to design and test circuits quickly and with high quality standards. We want to deliver products that stand for reliability and robustness, confident they are stable in all operating conditions."
"We are proud to support CEITEC S.A, the largest design house and foundry in Brazil and South America, with our WiCkeD tool suite,” said Andreas Ripp, MunEDA VP of sales and marketing. “Our excellent cooperation with CEITEC S.A is very promising for the future because CEITEC S.A’s design process requires what WiCkeD provides – flexibility between process technologies, and also high quality and reliability. CEITEC S.A serves as an example for Brazil’s entire design community, and its success has a strong impact on the entire semiconductor market in Brazil."
Marcelo Lubaszewski, design superintendent of CEITEC S.A and professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, added: "As a semiconductor foundry and design house, we rely on our flexibility to shift designs between technologies efficiently, with predictable schedules and high quality. Using MunEDA´s WiCkeD tools, we lower the barrier for customers to port their existing design IP to CEITEC S.A technologies, which is essential for attracting new customers. MunEDA’s technology also enables our design teams to access other technologies and design-in leading-edge quality to achieve high yield and robust designs that will work under various potential operating conditions.”
