Xilinx Alliance Program intros highly qualified premier design services providers to accelerate customer design productivity

BANGALORE, INDIA: Xilinx Inc. has introduced the Premier Design Services membership tier of the Xilinx Alliance Program, as an extension of its Design Services member base, to help FPGA customers accelerate new product development and make it easier for FPGA users to find the right partner for their design and development needs.

“The Xilinx Alliance Program creates a global ecosystem through close collaboration with our most trusted partners,” said Dave Tokic, senior director, Partner Ecosystems and Alliances at Xilinx. “As designs continue to become more complex, Xilinx understands that finding the right design services support can be difficult and time consuming. Customers can select design services members with ease and confidence, as Premier Design Services members have scalably demonstrated that they can execute to the industry’s most rigorous criteria of technical, business and quality standards.”

In today’s technology industry, engineering management in all markets are struggling to balance shrinking time to market budgets and engineering bursts in new product development cycles. As a result, technology companies have turned to R&D outsourcing for their design needs. With R&D outsourcing surpassing the $1 trillion mark in 2009 and predicted to be a $1.4 trillion industry in 2020, Xilinx has responded to this industry trend by investing in a comprehensive ecosystem that ensures Xilinx Alliance Program members are the most qualified for customer needs and exceed best practices.

With an elite design services ecosystem program comprised of individually chosen and comprehensively audited members, Xilinx customers can predictably and repeatedly accelerate R&D.

The Xilinx Alliance Program is a worldwide ecosystem of providers, including Member, Certified and Premier levels of membership delivering products and services on Xilinx programmable platforms and held to strict business, technical, and quality standards. Since the program’s inception in October 2010, more than 30 Xilinx Allliance Program members have achieved Certified status through rigorous corporate reviews and engineer training certifications. Premier Design Services members have been chosen and screened by Xilinx from the top 30 Certified Members in the 300-member strong ecosystem and have passed an extensive 320-point onsite audit.

The inaugural members of the Premier Design Services ecosystem are CoreEL Technologies (India) P Ltd., Fidus Systems Inc., and Tokyo Electron Device Ltd. These firms possess engineering centers of excellence across North America, EMEA, Japan, and APAC. Each Premier Design Services member provides system-level electronics design, including FPGA, embedded processor, and mixed-signal board design.

Individual members may also provide additional services such as industrial design, mechanical design, software development, and manufacturing capabilities. All Premier Design Services members maintain FPGA experts who have passed the same rigorous training on FPGA design as Xilinx Field Engineering worldwide, and are provided access to a similar level of Xilinx hotline and webcase support.

Xilinx Premier Design Services demos continued leadership in FPGA ecosystem
With the addition of the Premier Design Services tier, Xilinx is continuing its leadership in securing and growing a comprehensive base of best-in-class alliance partners around its programmable platforms. Not only have all Members of the Xilinx Alliance Program been nominated for their excellence in value-added products and services and have passed a thorough quality survey, Xilinx has also ensured that members support industry standards, such as the AMBA AXI4 protocol, VITA-57 FMC standard, and IEEE P1735 IP encryption standard.

Comprised of FPGA IP providers, EDA vendors, embedded software providers, development kit suppliers, and system integrators, Alliance Members help accelerate time to market with reduced risk.

Yasuo Hatsumi, Tokyo Electron Device VP of Solution Business, said: “Tokyo Electron Device Ltd. enjoys a close working relationship with Xilinx as their distribution partner in Japan and supplier of IP, Development kits, and Design Services under the brand name of “inrevium” to Xilinx customers globally. We appreciate that Xilinx sets a high bar for quality in its Alliance Program and are pleased to have recently passed our second company audit by Xilinx. Tokyo Electron Device is pleased to join the Premier Design Services program, and looks forward to serving even more Xilinx customers in this capacity.”

Michael Wakim, president and CEO, Fidus Systems, said: “Fidus has been a longstanding member of the Xilinx Alliance Program and has completed nearly 100 Xilinx-based designs for our customers in diverse markets such as wired and wireless communications, medical devices, Aerospace & Defense, and transportation. We are very pleased to accept Xilinx’s invitation to join the Premier Design Services program and look forward to assisting more Xilinx customers through our design centers across North America.”

Vishwanath Padur, CoreEL senior VP of Business Development, added: “CoreEL has worked closely with Xilinx, the leader in Programmable Logic, for over 15 years as an Alliance Member and designated representative for India. We are excited about the rapid adoption of Xilinx’s 7 Series FPGAs and believe our synergies with IP Cores, Targeted Development Kits, Design Services and our ability to offer end-to-end system level solutions will greatly accelerate design productivity and programmable system integration. As a Premier Design Services Alliance Member, Xilinx customers worldwide can rely on CoreEL for end-to-end system design.”
