GSA announces addition of Intersil CEO, David Bell, to its board

SAN JOSE, USA: The Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), the voice of the global semiconductor industry, announces the appointment of David Bell, president and CEO of Intersil Corp., to its board of directors. With this addition, GSA further reinforces its commitment and focus to address analog/mixed-signal (A/MS) issues within the industry.

GSA’s board is comprised of industry executives who are representative of the global regions in which GSA holds active memberships. Bell filled one of the Semiconductor positions, which are dedicated to fabless and integrated device manufacturer (IDM) companies.

Intersil is a global technology leader specializing in the design and manufacture of high performance analog, mixed-signal and power management semiconductors. The company's products address some of the fastest growing markets within the automotive, communications, computing, consumer and industrial industries.

“Intersil’s mission to create highly integrated and innovative solutions developed in collaboration with our customers, matches the mission and objectives of the Global Semiconductor Alliance,” said Bell. “The GSA has recognized the importance of analog and power management ICs for the future success of the industry, and I am ready to lend my expertise to the effort.”

GSA has identified analog/mixed-signal as a key area of focus and formed the GSA RF/A/MS Working Group dedicated to this rapidly growing space. Bell’s solid foundation, with more than three decades of analog industry experience, strengthens GSA’s commitment to represent this sector.

Bell joined Intersil in April of 2007 after spending 12 years with Linear Technology Corp., most recently, from June 2003 to January 2007, as its president. Prior to becoming president of LTC, Bell served as LTC’s vice president and general manager of Power Products and previous to that held the position of LTC’s manager of Strategic Product Development.

“I am very pleased that David Bell has been added to the GSA Board of Directors,” said Jodi Shelton, co-founder and president of GSA. “David’s broad knowledge and experience provides an additional perspective of understanding the challenges that analog companies face. It is our ambition to learn from experts like Bell and his contribution will help guide us to continued success.”
