MILPITAS, USA: LSI Corp. has introduced the AXE2502 Axxia communication processor, designed to accelerate networking in enterprise and cloud datacenters. The AXE2502 processor offloads complex networking tasks from servers and networking equipment, improving performance and reducing power consumption.
The growth in cloud services driven by demand for mobile broadband and dynamic, flexible enterprise IT is straining the ability of datacenter networking equipment to keep up. Designed for enterprise networking equipment such as switching and routing line cards, the AXE2502 processor accelerates enterprise and cloud datacenter workloads.
The AXE2502 is designed to deliver:
* Deterministic, predictable network performance for datacenters by offloading complex networking tasks.
* Full offload architecture to deal with increasing control traffic in both traditional and software-defined networks.
* Higher-performing cloud datacenters by efficiently managing traffic in highly virtualized environments.
* Software compatibility with the entire Axxia family of communication processors, allowing software reuse and reducing development costs.
