IDT assembles industry’s most comprehensive solution portfolio supporting Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 product family

SAN JOSE, USA: Integrated Device Technology Inc. (IDT) has assembled the industry’s most comprehensive solution portfolio supporting the Intel Xeon Processor E5-2600 Product Family (formerly known as the Romley Platform). IDT’s product portfolio encompasses many functions including high-performance PCI Express 3.0 switching and signal conditioning, tailored timing solutions, power management controllers, and low-power memory interface products. These solutions address critical customer needs in cloud computing, enterprise servers, blade servers, workstations, storage arrays, and communications infrastructure.

“Intel processor technology and IDT PCIe 3.0, timing, memory interface and power management solutions are key enablers for cloud computing datacenters,” said Jim Pappas, Director of Technology Initiatives, Intel. “IDT continues to be a strong contributor to the PCIe ecosystem, with an extensive solution portfolio for the development of new Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 product family-based designs.”

“IDT is proud to offer the industry’s leading portfolio of PCI Express, timing, power management, and memory interface products to support Intel’s advanced Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 product family server platform,” said Dr. Ted Tewksbury, president and CEO at IDT. “IDT’s comprehensive product offering is the result of a system-level approach targeting the cloud computing enterprise server market. These products leverage our analog and digital expertise to provide customers with innovative mixed-signal system solutions.”

IDT PCI Express 3.0 switching and signal conditioning products conform to the latest PCIe 3.0 specification to deliver the fastest PCIe connectivity available at 8 Gbps per link. The IDT 89H64H16G3, 89H48H12G3, and 89H32H8G3 enable designers to expand the high performance, scalable PCIe fabric. These switches incorporate multi-root features and independent SSC clock isolation for maximum design flexibility.

IDT 89HT0808P and 89HT0816P retimers eliminate both random and deterministic jitter to enhance reliability, and implement the new automatic link equalization procedure, easing system design with any PCIe-compliant expansion controller. IDT PCIe 3.0 switches and retimers provide the high bandwidth connectivity required in enterprise and cloud computing applications.

As the world leader in timing solutions, IDT recently announced the industry’s most complete and lowest-power timing solution specifically for the Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 product family server platform. This three-chip solution consists of a main clock, peripheral clock, and Z-buffer each with different configuration options to optimize a motherboard’s bill-of-materials (BOM) for varying size and power constraints. All of the new IDT timing devices enable PCIe 3.0, SAS 12G, and QPI 9.6 Gb/s.

IDT’s portfolio also includes a family of VR12-compliant multi-phase pulse width modulation (PWM) power controllers, optimized for use with discrete inductors as well as IDT’s patented power-, cost-, and space-saving Coupled Inductor technology. Product options include 1 to 3 phase (IDT P63131) and 1 to 4 phase (IDT P63141) operation, each with a single-phase secondary output, to be used with discrete inductors. The IDT P63133 and IDT P63144 are designed specifically for use with IDT’s proprietary Coupled Inductors, providing improved efficiency, space savings, and lower total solution cost.

To complete the comprehensive offering for the Intel Xeon Processor E5-2600 Product Family, IDT recently announced the world’s lowest power DDR3 register and a high-accuracy thermal sensor for DD3 memory modules. IDT’s JEDEC-compliant DDR3 register is designed to enable enterprise servers to operate at the highest speeds within an unmatched power envelope, maximizing the performance and power efficiency of large-scale cloud computing datacenters. These registers offer over 25 percent lower power consumption versus previous generations and support speeds up to DDR3-2133.

IDT’s JEDEC-compliant low-power thermal sensors offer the industry’s leading temperature accuracy and resolution. They feature ultra-low active and standby power, and support 3.3V and 2.5V SMBus for forward compatibility.
