ASTRO Gaming adopts SMSC’s high-performance digital wireless audio KleerNet technology for gaming platforms

HAUPPAUGE, USA: SMSC, a leading semiconductor company enabling content rich connectivity systems, announced that ASTRO Gaming has selected SMSC’s KleerNet technology to deliver lossless wireless audio streaming for its gaming headsets. Interoperability across brands makes it possible for users to recognize and pair with other KleerNet products to access and stream audio to multiple destinations.

“For gamers, high quality, low latency audio makes or breaks the experience,” said Aron Drayer, director of Marketing at ASTRO Gaming. “KleerNet technology in our gaming platform will bring consumers the ultimate in high definition wireless audio.”

“KleerNet’s low interference, uncompressed transmission of audio and chat with up to four separate channels make it a great match for multi-player gaming environments,” said Gene Sheridan, senior VP and GM of SMSC’s Wireless Audio Products Group. “Pure audio, free of wires, gives consumers an optimal gaming experience.”
