Reverse Engineering & Costing seminar to be held in Taipei

FRANCE: Yole Développement and System Plus Consulting announced the Reverse Engineering & Costing seminar. This event takes place on Nov. 13 & 14, 2012 in Taipei, ITRI office.

During two days – First day dedicated to the MEMS area and second day dedicated to the LED area – both companies offer you to discover the industry, its technical challenges and reverse costing & cost simulation tools.

With a focus on MEMS and LED, the Reverse Engineering & Costing Seminar is made up of Yole Développement presentations on the related market area and System Plus Consulting tools presentations: reverse costing and cost simulation. During the afternoon, one-to-one meetings are organized with Yole Développement and System Plus Consulting experts to answer specific questions.

On November 13, Yole Développement presents the last MEMS market update, the technology and manufacturing trends and the evolution of the industry.

MEMS will continue to see steady, sustainable double digit growth for the next six years, with 20 percent compound average annual growth in units and 13 percent growth in revenues, to become a $21 billion market by 2017.

“We expect continued strong growth in motion sensing and microfluidics as those sectors will increasingly come to dominate the MEMS market totals, making up almost half of the overall market in 2017, with accelerometers, gyros, magnetometers and combos accounting for about 25 percent of the total, and microfluidics for 23 percent," explains Jean-Christophe Eloy, CEO, Yole Développement.

MEMS program includes:
* Status of the MEMS Industry: fueled by consumer applications, MEMS market keeps growing, while MEMS players acquisitions values are rocketing; Jean-Christophe Eloy, Yole Développement.

* MEMS reverse costing & manufacturing cost simulation; Michel Allain, System Plus Consulting.

* One to one meetings with Yole Développement and System Plus Consulting teams.

On November 14, Yole Développement and System Plus Consulting propose the LED Reverse Engineering & Costing seminar part.

“A reverse costing analysis includes technological data and economical calculations. Usually based on the teardown of a sample, it provides detailed information on the process involved, the materials and dimensions”, explains Michel Allain, CEO, System Plus Consulting. A process flow is extracted from these observations, completed with publicly available data, and simulated using a cost simulation tool. Multiple results are obtained, from cost per step to yield influence.

LED program includes:
* The LED industry is entering its third growth cycle: general lighting; Jean-Christophe Eloy, Yole Développement.

* LED reverse costing & manufacturing cost simulation; Michel Allain, System Plus Consulting.

* One to one meetings with Yole Développement and System Plus Consulting teams.
