GSA board of directors election results new directors, add market and geographic diversity

SAN JOSE, USA: The Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) announced the results of its 2011 Board of Directors’ election results. The leaders of the GSA BOD define GSA’s strategic vision and direction. The majority of the board members are selected by the Association’s semiconductor members.

New semiconductor directors elected include Sagar Pushpala, senior vice president, worldwide operations and technology, Intersil and Dr. Ted Tewksbury, president and CEO, Integrated Device Technology. Colin Harris, chief operating officer of PMC-Sierra and Vincent Tong, senior vice president, worldwide quality and new product introductions, Xilinx, were re-elected.

For new foundry representation, Dr. David N.K. Wang, president and chief executive officer of SMIC, was elected for a director seat. Rick Cassidy, president of TSMC North America and Dr. Douglas Grose, chief executive officer of GLOBALFOUNDRIES, were re-elected.

Kenneth Joyce, president and chief executive officer, Amkor Technology and Dr. Tien Wu, chief operating officer at ASE Group, return to represent test/packaging and back-end suppliers.

Representing EDA/design partners, Dr. Aart de Geus, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Synopsys and Lip-Bu Tan, president and chief executive officer, Cadence Design Systems were re-elected.
