Realtek intros quad GbE PHY for customers designing with BroadLight’s third generation processors

HSINCHU, TAIWAN: Realtek Semiconductor Corp., a leading integrated circuit provider worldwide, announced the introduction of the RTL8214B, a true quad-port Gigabit Ethernet PHY transceiver solution for customers designing with BroadLight’s 3rd Gen Processors.

With its cost effective QSGMII interface, the seamless connectivity between Realtek’s RTL8214B Quad PHY and BroadLight’s 3rd Generation processors achieves a highly optimized and low power solution. Supporting the Energy Efficient Ethernet standard (IEEE 802.3az), the devices deliver an optimal Bill Of Materials (BOM) and the industry’s lowest power consumption. Realtek and BroadLight have already secured several design wins with the RTL8214B Quad PHY and the BroadLight 3rd gen processor during the recent sampling phase.

“Realtek and BroadLight field proven technologies continue to offer our customers best-in-class solutions,” said Jessy Chen, executive VP of Realtek. “By complementing our industry-leading PHY with BroadLight’s Fiber and Ethernet Processors we provide our customers with a winning design for the expanding GPON market.”

"Our collaboration with Realtek’s highly optimal Quad PHY creates a compelling solution for customers and enables them to quickly bring to market the industry’s most competitive solutions,” said Doron Tal, VP of business development and product marketing with BroadLight.
