Plasma-Therm releases CORTEX control system extending productive service of 790 and Shuttlelock (SLR) products

ST. PETERSBURG, USA: Plasma-Therm has released CORTEX, a new fully-featured control system for its 790 and SLR products. The CORTEX package combines a user friendly software interface with the latest computer hardware extending the serviceable life of the 790 and SLR systems. This new control system will allow Plasma-Therm customers to significantly extend the use of their current systems at a fraction of the cost of replacement equipment.

The CORTEX control system package includes installation and a full system evaluation by a factory-trained service technician. It also includes features that are typically only available with high volume production equipment such as, advanced data logging and tracking, optional endpoint capability, and optional SECS/GEM host communications.

“We are providing this upgrade to our customers to extend the functional life of their 790 and SLR systems for processes that the equipment has been reliably running for decades. CORTEX can facilitate many more years of service for over one thousand systems currently in operation,” stated John Jacob, Product Marketing Manager.

“Our customers have stated that the value and long-term reliability experienced with Plasma-Therm equipment has been instrumental in their requests for an upgrade package,” added Ed Ostan, executive VP of Sales and Marketing. “Our emphasis on building strong customer partnerships and providing ongoing support for our systems is a key factor in repeat orders.”
