Mistral to offer SDR solutions from PrismTech

BANGALORE, INDIA: Mistral Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a leading technology design and systems engineering company, will now offer the Spectra range of software products and services from PrismTech in India. Spectra is the global leader in commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Software Defined Radio (SDR) software development products.

Spectra is targeted at various SDR researchers and developers such as DRDO labs, radio OEMs and system integrators. Spectra is based on and incorporates industry leading standards, specifications and technologies including the Software Communications Architecture (SCA). Further, PrismTech’s and Mistral’s products are highly complementary, for example the Spectra DTP4500 development and test platform, is built on Mistral’s OMAP 35x EVM.

Mistral is a leading provider of Defense solutions and sub-systems for radar, processing, airborne and telemetry applications to the DRDO and other Defense contractors in India. Mistral’s existing partnerships with leading international providers of embedded technology solutions like Curtiss Wright, Wind River, Esterel Technologies, Amper, RTI and Coverity, among others, help provide customers with finest technology solutions based on the world’s leading hardware and software platforms. Mistral currently offers a broad range of SDR hardware from Curtiss Wright.

The Spectra product suite offers both developer productivity tools and deployment middleware. Spectra CX helps developers model, build and deploy SCA-compliant SDR waveforms in a fast, productive manner that accelerates the customer’s products to market. Using Spectra CX, customers thus achieve faster cycle times and higher quality and compliance due to the advanced modelling and auto-generation of all SCA component interfaces and test routines.

The Spectra product suite includes highly optimized, SCA-compliant, radio platform middleware (Spectra CF and Spectra CDB) and is thus also ideal for facilitating the rapid development of high-performance, small form-factor radio platforms.

Spectra incorporates all the specifications required for SCA-compliance, including Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) middleware and services and a Core Framework (CF). In the future Spectra will also support the currently evolving SCA Next specification.
