Mindspeed to demo Comcerto multi-core packet processors for fiber-access service delivery

NEWPORT BEACH, USA: Mindspeed Technologies Inc., a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure applications, is demonstrating its multi-core Comcerto system-on-chip (SoC) packet processors during the 2011 Sviaz-Expocomm conference at the Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow, Russia, May 10-13, in booth #83A10.

“This year at Sviaz-Expocomm, Mindspeed will be showcasing its award-winning Comcerto 1000 processors in concert with collaborators Zarlink Semiconductor and CODICO GmbH,” said Marco Bello, executive director of customer premises equipment (CPE) marketing and product management at Mindspeed. “We will demonstrate applications that highlight the Comcerto product’s superior packet handling for delivering advanced triple-play services, carrier-grade voice-over-IP (VoIP) quality, gigabit line rate security performance and a reliable framework for telecom operators to deploy value-added services over fiber networks.”

The Comcerto 1000 SoC processor will be shown distributing multiple simultaneous high-definition (HD) video streams, while delivering HD VoIP service and gigabit data rates with robust Quality of Service (QoS). The demonstration will also feature a real-world OSGi home security application.

Mindspeed’s Comcerto 1000 software design kit (SDK) includes a complete broadband home router (BHR) reference implementation and a carrier-class, feature-rich voice package to help accelerate system development schedules, while reducing total system cost.
