Plessey Semiconductors obtains ISO/TS16949, ISO9001 and ISO14001 certifications

PLYMOUTH, ENGLAND: Plessey Semiconductors announced that it had successfully passed all the audits necessary to obtain certification to the internationally recognised ISO quality standards TS16949 and ISO9001 and the environmental standard ISO14001.

Certification to these demanding standards is a requirement for any manufacturer supporting the international automotive market and other demanding electronics market segments. Plessey Semiconductors was able to pass the TS16949 audit with no non-conformances.

“Since the acquisition of the Plymouth facility in January 2010, we have continued to look for ways to improve the quality of products and processes whilst continuing to transfer in the bipolar processes from our Swindon facility and meet all our new product release schedules”, said Neil Harper, Director of Operations. “Considering everything that we are doing getting this positive feedback from the auditors on the quality and environmental standards is very encouraging.”

Plessey Semiconductors announced the acquisition of the Plymouth facility from X-FAB Semiconductor Foundries AG in January 2010.
