IDT's PureTouch technology selected for JVC audio system

SAN JOSE, USA: Integrated Device Technology Inc. (IDT) announced the IDT PureTouch capacitive touch controller has been selected by JVC, a leading audio and video manufacturer, for use in its UX-GN6 micro audio system.

JVC selected the IDT touch solution because of its easy customization and simple system design as well as the world-class design support offered by IDT.

The JVC UX-GN6 features innovative laser touch control panels that incorporate the IDT PureTouch capacitive touch technology. These touch controls allow consumers to adjust the volume or change tracks by sliding a finger across the appropriate parts of the touch panel. Furthermore, the integrated IDT LED drivers in the JVC system allow automatic and instant visual feedback when a touch occurs.

“IDT is pleased to work with a consumer electronics industry leader, such as JVC, to bring a new standard of design excellence and usability to the audio systems market,” said Alvin Wong, general manager of the IDT Advanced User Interface group.

“We believe consumers’ demand for touch capabilities in their everyday products will keep increasing. IDT will continue to deliver innovative touch solutions that help manufacturers differentiate their offerings and meet their markets demands with improved functions, performance and style.”

“JVC strives to bring innovative products to market while ensuring consumer satisfaction. Incorporating the IDT PureTouch capacitive solutions into our next-generation audio system allows us to increase functionality, enhance the user experience, and continue to create elegant and stylish designs that appeal to consumers,” said Akio Watanabe of the home entertainment division at JVC.
