SAN JOSE, USA: Arteris Inc., a leading interconnect IP solutions provider, today announced the expansion of its global sales and support team, with additions and expansions in North America, Europe and Asia.
The expansion, which includes a direct team of sales veterans in North America and Europe as well as proven channel partners in key geographies, is in response to growing demand for the company’s network-on-chip (NoC) solutions for addressing the on-chip communications needs of all types of system-on-chips (SoCs).
To oversee sales in North America, China, Taiwan and Korea, Arteris has brought on David Mertens as its new Vice President of Sales. Based in the company’s US headquarters, he will report directly to Charlie Janac, Arteris President and CEO. Mertens comes to Arteris from Audience and Tensilica.
Arteris has further boosted its North American sales team with the additions of EDA and IP industry veterans Tim Herbert and Brian Smith. Herbert, with a background in sales at ARC, Virage Logic, CoWare and Cadence Design Systems, will be Director of Sales for the West Coast of the United States. Smith, most recently from CEVA and Rambus will serve as Director of Sales for Texas, Midwest, East Coast and Eastern Canada.
“David, Tim and Brian bring a wealth of experience to Arteris in serving both large and small customers of innovative IP products,” said Janac. “Arteris Network on Chip solution has reached a rapid adoption phase requiring us to expand and grow a world-class sales force.”
In Europe, Cedric Plomion has moved to the company’s European sales team after several years in the application engineering group. Plomion reports to Michel Telera, Vice President of Arteris’ EMEA sales region.
“The appointment of Cedric will help expand Arteris’ leading position in interconnect IP in Europe where we see a tremendous amount of opportunity across all application sectors,” said Telera.
To address opportunities elsewhere in the world, Arteris has turned to proven channel partners in Japan, Korea, India and Israel.
In Japan, Arteris announced the appointment of Innotech as its exclusive sales and distribution partner in Japan. Innotech will have dedicated sales and technical support personnel for Arteris NoC interconnect IP products and leverage their strong relationship across the semiconductor industry there to help drive growth for Arteris.
“We have been working with Arteris for over a year and have had Japanese customers tape out multiple SoCs with Arteris NoC interconnect solutions” said Takashi Takahashi, Director of Innotech Corporation. “We are looking forward to expanding the adoption of this critical enabling technology for SoC developers.”
Arteris has appointed CMR Design Automation, Ltd. as its support and sales agent in India. “CMR Design Automation has always brought the leading edge technologies first to the Indian market,” said Mahesh Chandra, Director of CMR Design Automation. “Through this agreement, the fast growing Indian design community doing cutting edge designs will have greater access to Arteris NoC in the development of next generation semiconductor products.”
Arteris has appointed Satris Group as its exclusive sales agent in Israel. “Satris is proud to represent Arteris in Israel,” said Coby Hanoch, Satris Group’s CEO. “We believe the Arteris NoC solution is the most advanced interconnect IP available and that it will enable Israeli customers to achieve more efficient designs faster.”
“With the addition of direct sales and application support resources in USA and Europe and appointment of three leading distributors with dedicated support resources in Asia and Middle East, Arteris is well-positioned to support large SoC makers and local accounts on a global basis,” said Janac.
