Synopsys awarded TSMC's interface IP partner of the year

MOUNTAIN VIEW, USA: Synopsys Inc. has received TSMC's 2011 Interface IP Partner of the Year Award. Synopsys was selected based on customer feedback, TSMC-9000 compliance, technical support excellence and number of customer tapeouts. Synopsys' DesignWare Interface IP portfolio includes widely used protocols such as USB, DDR, PCI Express, HDMI, MIPI and SATA that are offered in a broad range of processes from 180-nanometer (nm) to 28-nm.

"Our selection of Synopsys is an endorsement of their successful TSMC-9000 compliance and commitment to excellent customer support," said Suk Lee, director of design infrastructure marketing at TSMC. "Our ongoing collaboration with Synopsys results in our mutual customers getting the IP they need to meet their SoC design goals."

"TSMC and Synopsys share a commitment to delivering high-performance, high-quality IP that helps designers mitigate their project risks, and Synopsys is honored to be recognized for this commitment for the second year in a row," said John Koeter, VP of marketing for IP and systems at Synopsys. "With the extensive portfolio of DesignWare IP products that are silicon-proven across a broad spectrum of TSMC processes, designers can reduce their integration risk and focus on the design blocks that differentiate their chips."
