Richardson RFPD launches new microsite for Freescale's rugged 50V LDMOS transistors

LAFOX, USA: Richardson RFPD Inc. announced the launch of a new “microsite” to help design engineers incorporate Freescale’s rugged 50V LDMOS technology into either new or existing designs. The microsite contains a broad array of technical support material, such as white papers, reference designs, and links to ADS/AWR models.

All three of Freescale’s new high-power RF transistor products (300W, 600W, and 1.25kW) provide high-gain, high-efficiency, extreme ruggedness (VSWR 65:1), very low thermal resistance, and have been optimized for virtually any high-power ISM (Industrial, Scientific, Medical) or Broadcast application, including both CW and pulse operation.

Chris Marshall, VP, RF & Wireless, for Richardson RFPD, said: “These power transistors represent a true leap forward in technology given the ability to handle a 65:1 VSWR mismatch with no damage. The new parts are currently being designed-in around the globe for MRI RF Amplifiers, CO2 Laser Exciters, RF Plasma Generators, Avionics Systems, and HF/VHF Broadcast Transmitters.”

Richardson RFPD carries the new MRFE6VP6300 (300W), the MRFE6VP5600 (600W), and the MRFE6VP61K25 (1.25kW) parts in both “bolt-down” and “solder-down” package options. Richardson RFPD will also be releasing pallet amplifier products based on this enhanced technology. These will cover various applications operating at frequencies between 2 MHz and 600 MHz.
