Sigma Designs' VXP image processing technology brings unparalleled clarity to first true cinemascope format DLP projector

CEDIA EXPO 2010, MILPITAS, USA: Sigma Designs announced that the avielo by projectiondesign is using Sigma’s VXP® image-processing technology.

One of the world’s most innovative suppliers of high-performance projectors, avielo by projectiondesign is using Sigma’s 12-bit Dual Channel, Dual Output VXP video processor (GF9452) incorporated at the heart of its avielo optix SuperWide235 DLP projector. The combination of Sigma’s industry leading image-processing chipset with avielo by projectiondesign’s projector technology sets a new industry standard for video quality.

Sigma’s GF9452 with VXP can be applied to a broad variety of commercial applications from large-venue projection to high-end display solutions. The GF9452 has an impressive feature set that enables the increased resolution, up to 2538x1080, application space by supporting two full channels and no-compromise processing from sources including the latest Blu-ray Disc players and sources with HDMI 1.4 outputs. VXP technology gives the GF9452 chipset an unparalleled edge in image-processing capabilities. The technology delivers a complete package of high-quality video processing algorithms for deinterlacing, scaling, image enhancement, and color management. A powerful graphics engine allows for sophisticated on-screen display generation that is ideal for electronic program guides (EPG) and set-up menus. In addition, the GF9452 is backwards compatible with system software projects developed for previous generation VXP video processors. This enables system designers already experienced with VXP products to greatly reduce time-to-market by re-using existing software and interfaces.
