BroadLight, Skelmir to deliver ready-to-market solutions for connected home

SANTA CLARA, USA: BroadLight, a leading supplier of fiber access processors, has announced its strategic partnership with Skelmir, the leading provider of small footprint, high performance Virtual Machines for running Java applications on embedded devices.

The Skelmir CEE-J Virtual Machine (VM) has been ported to the BroadLight BL2348 and BL2548 fiber access processors. The availability of the CEE-J VM for these processors provides a market ready platform to run Java and OSGi applications for the connected home.

“Our fiber-grade architecture enables high performance processing for Java and OSGi that delivers the application performance demanded by carriers for service enablement in today’s connected digital home,” said Doron Tal, VP of Business Development and Product Management at BroadLight.

The partnership combines BroadLight’s fiber access processors with Skelmir’s CEE-J VM technologies, providing significant advantage to carriers by enabling them to increase their ARPU with innovative revenue generating services.
