GES acquires factory automation software company in India from Japanese semicon equipment company

SAN JOSE, USA: Global Equipment Services Inc. (GES), has completed the acquisition of Infotek, a 30 engineer India based equipment automation software division of WINS Ltd., a Japan based semiconductor equipment provider. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

GES Infotek (as the new division will be known), located in Trivandrum, India, brings extensive experience in the Semiconductor and Solar PV manufacturing and equipment automation domains with a base of over 400 man years of experience covering all leading programming languages.

In addition to industrial automation, GES Infotek brings experience with computer vision and image processing, embedded systems, robotics, digital consumer and media solutions and human-machine interface (HMI).

According to Dr. Dan Maydan, GES board member and semiconductor industry and technology luminary: "GES has been growing rapidly with significant customer engagements in the semi, FPD and solar PV markets. This strategic acquisition of Infotek provides GES with exceptional software engineering strength to complete their existing design engineering, contract manufacturing and field service capabilities.
Infotek currently offers two products for the SEMI SECS-GEM market."

FabSip provides SEMI standard communication library to provide seamless integration of FAB equipment and software control systems. FabEasy is a comprehensive SECS communications simulator product.

HMI solutions have been key to Infotek's business with projects completed for FPD systems, Defect Tracking systems, Equipment Control Software Framework, Automated Inspection systems, Wafer tracking and Sorting systems, plasma processing systems, and Die Bonders. These projects have included computer vision and image processing, embedded solutions and PLC system programming.
