Wipro reaps design success using Mentor Graphics' technologies

BANGALORE, INDIA: Mentor Graphics Corp. announced that it has partnered with Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Ltd. (NYSE:WIT) to continue to enable time-to-market and first-time right solutions to their global product engineering customers.

Wipro Technologies, which has a large product engineering team specialized across various industry verticals, uses Mentor’s leading edge design automation tools and technologies in their design programs for customers.

The key objective in this technology adoption was the continued success witnessed in their physical verification and PCB design projects using Mentor Graphics tools. By using the tools Board Station, Expedition and XtremePCB, Wipro has been able to reduce design cycles of customers’ products by over 40 percent, leading to a strong time-to-market advantage for electronic product companies.

In the IC implementation area, Wipro has been taking advantage of Mentor Graphics IC implementation solutions to address a number of key challenges. The TestKompress Xpress technology has been adopted in different teams in Wipro for customer projects and is seen to provide test pattern compression greater than 100X without sacrificing test coverage.

Wipro acknowledges that the Questa verification platform is being used by its teams to address growing challenges in the SystemVerilog and complex SoC verification space. Wipro has also been using the Mentor Graphics Design-to-Silicon (D2S) platform with accuracy and performance improvements in Deep Sub Micron technologies.
