SANTA CLARA, USA: Silego Technology Inc. has recently announced the GreenSAK.
The first GreenSAK is a 2x2 mm TDFN metal-mask programmable IC with common digital and analog components. GreenSAK (logic and analog) has been designed to operate as a standalone IC capable of performing many 4-bit and 8-bit MCU applications or work in conjunction with Silego’s GreenCLK (timing) and GreenFET drivers (power sequencing) product lines to remove up to 30% of all components on larger computation and communication system boards.
Silego’s GreenSAK and GreenPAK product families are designed to complement to each other. GreenPAK is a one-time programmable IC that can be configured and programmed in minutes. GreenSAK is a similar IC containing a subset of GreenPAK functions and targeting ultra-high volume (<1MU/mo) applications where cost is absolutely critical.
GreenSAK implementation starts with a GreenPAK. GreenPAKs are configured with GreenPAK Designer 1.0 software and a USB-based GreenPAK programmer. The software is intuitive and its configuration requires no programming language or complier, allowing a designer to program and test their custom GreenPAK. After verifying circuit operation with GreenPAK, the design is ported to GreenSAK, which provides the same functionality at a lower cost.
GreenSAK, as a stand alone product, is targeted at many 4 and 8-bit microcontroller applications. The finite state machine, counters, delays, logic, comparators, ADC, voltage reference, oscillator and PWM allow for 1000’s of applications such as interface to sensors of all types, LED drivers, motor controllers, touch sensing, and over-voltage protection.
GreenSAK is also the logic and mixed signal element of Silego’s Green Product strategy for large computation and communication system boards. GreenSAKs are often used to remove power on resets, temperature sensor interface ICs, delay or timing related logic, IC support logic, and power good circuits.
“Silego’s GreenSAK products are the first ICs available to cost effectively remove massive numbers of passive and simple active components from large designs, improving reliability and reducing procurement issues while saving board area, power and cost,” said John McDonald, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Silego. “The GreenSAK family moves forward Silego’s vision of providing a comprehensive selection of ICs that clean up every PCB by reducing component count, simplifying design, and saving power and board space.”
Silego provides many options to learn about GreenSAK through live video web support 16 hours+ per day, training videos, software, or one-on-one training with a Silego engineer to help turn existing schematics and ideas into successful GreenPAK and GreenSAK ICs.
GreenSAK products are in volume production. They are priced from $0.10 to $0.15 in high volume. Please contact Silego for ultra-high volume pricing.
