Cpress TrueTouch touchscreen solution delivers highly responsive and accurate touchscreen for docomo PRIME series F-01C handset

SAN JOSE, USA: Cypress Semiconductor Corp. announced that Fujitsu Ltd has selected the TrueTouch touchscreen solution from Cypress to implement the touchscreen in the new docomo PRIME series F-01C mobile phone.

The flexible TrueTouch solution, based on the programmable system-on-chip (PSoC) architecture, delivered the most responsive and accurate touchscreen solution for Fujitsu, which docomo PRIME series users rated as very important in a recent customer satisfaction survey.

The docomo PRIME series F-01C is one of the world’s most advanced phones. It offers an impressive list of features, including 3.4-inch TFT color VGA display, a 13.2 megapixel camera with face detection and full HD video capability, and touchscreen writing technology, which allows users to write difficult-to-read Kanji characters simply by using their fingers directly on the screen.

“We listened to our customers and focused on the performance of the touchscreen as a very important feature in the F-01C,” said a spokesperson for Fujitsu Limited. “The Cypress TrueTouch solution demonstrated the best response and tracking accuracy of any touchscreen solution we tested.”

“Touchscreen performance is becoming a key differentiator for consumers looking to select their next phone,” said Norm Taffe, executive vice president of Cypress’s Consumer and Computation Division. “We’re pleased to see TrueTouch selected by a leader such as Fujitsu based on its performance advantage.”

“The docomo PRIME series F-01C is an amazing phone with a range of outstanding features,” said Hitoshi Yoshizowa, vice president of Japan Sales for Cypress. “We are pleased to work with Fujitsu to implement this leading-edge product.”
