SenseAir selects Zilog Z8F082A MCU for SenseAir CO2 engine

MILPITAS, USA: Zilog, a wholly-owned subsidiary of IXYS Corp. and a trusted supplier of application-specific, embedded microcontroller (MCU) system-on-chip (SoC) solutions for industrial, power management and consumer applications, announced that its Z8F082A MCU has been selected as the core microcontroller by SenseAir for their newest Fast Response CO2 Sensor Module.

Zilog is the “solution of choice” by SenseAir, which is using the Z8F082A microcontroller’s high resolution sigma/delta A/D converter to read and convert the signals from their infrared sensor and then processing SenseAir’s patented filtering and measurement algorithms to produce the final gas measurement from their system. Zilog and SenseAir have been working closely together on a revolutionary new design, keeping in step with SenseAir’s leadership position in the CO2 Sensor Markets.

The SenseAir CO2 Engine K30 FR can be used in a wide range of applications in which fast changes must be detected, such as detecting gas leakage when used in the food and pharmaceuticals packaging industries.

“Many of Zilog’s products are well suited for special applications such as sensor, energy management, motion sensing, and power management. Zilog now has a wide range of MCU-based solutions that range from the tried-and-true foundational classic line to new modules, customized solutions, and full platform solutions,” said Steve Darrough, Zilog’s Director of Marketing.

“SenseAir has established a unique close cooperation with our customers, which helps them create optimized sensor solutions adjusted to the many different technical and geographical markets worldwide. SenseAir has a deep commitment to continuous research and development work in order to maintain our position as a world-leading company within the gas analyzing business,” said Arvid Egeland, SenseAir’s MD.
