Cypress to provide development platform for touchscreen development on mobile phones

SAN JOSE, USA: Cypress Semiconductor Corp. announced that it will provide certain mobile phone manufacturers with Snapdragon MDPs for touchscreen development.

The Snapdragon MDP showcases the popular Cypress TrueTouch touchscreen controllers and gives customers a convenient platform to quickly test performance and compatibility of their technology within the mobile phone form-factor. Snapdragon MDPs are also available through BSQUARE Corp.

“As an industry leader in mobile processors, Qualcomm knows how to help customers quickly get their products to market,” said Bien Irace, Cypress vice president of Strategic Alliances and Partners. “We’re pleased to work with Qualcomm to ease the process of developing next-generation touchscreen user interfaces with our TrueTouch solution.”

“We are pleased to collaborate with Cypress to enable a high performance touchscreen solution on the Snapdragon MDP,” said Tia Cassett, senior director of business development at Qualcomm. “We recognize that user-interfaces are increasingly becoming a key differentiator in mobile phones, and we’re happy to provide quick-to-market UI on the Snapdragon MDP in conjunction with Cypress.”
