SandForce driven PCI Express, SAS and SATA SSDs Showcased at IDF

IDF 2010, SAN FRANCISCO, USA: SandForce Inc., the pioneer of SSD (Solid State Drive) processors that enable standard NAND Flash deployment in enterprise, client, and industrial computing applications, announced that its award-winning SF-1000 SSD Processor family is shipping in volume production in SSD products that incorporate PCI Express, SAS (Serial-Attached SCSI) and SATA (Serial ATA) host interfaces with advanced MLC NAND Flash.

SandForce SSD processors are used in systems that scale from mission-critical, Enterprise servers and storage infrastructure that deliver world-class online-transaction processing performance, to every-day client computing laptops and PCs.

“Our unique DuraClass technology is proven to enable industry-leading reliability, performance-per-watt, and performance-per-drive-volume compared to traditional rotating storage media and other solid state controller solutions,” said Kent Smith, senior director of Product Marketing for SandForce.

“By enabling both standard and unique form factor solutions with our DRAM-less SSD Processor architecture, SandForce is paving the way for volume deployment of SSDs with industry-standard interfaces including PCI Express, SAS, and SATA – all available in production today from leading SSD manufacturers.”
