AUECC consolidates position as Asia’s leading semiconductor, TFT-LCD and PV chemical supplier

TAIPEI, TAIWAN: The board of directors of Asia Union Electronic Chemical Corp. (AUECC), BOC LienHwa’s wholly owned subsidiary for electronic chemicals, today announced it has completed the acquisition of all shares of its joint venture Company in China. BOC LienHwa is a 50:50 joint venture of The Linde Group and Lien Hwa Industrial Corporation of Taiwan.

This acquisition will consolidate the sales and operations of the China business under one global management team with a single focus on the high purity electronic chemical market, serving key customers in the semiconductor, flat panel display and photovoltaic (PV) industries. AUECC’s Shanghai based operations now offer customers the widest range of fully integrated high purity chemical manufacturing technologies, bringing key quality and economic benefits.

Curtis Dove, CEO of Asia Union Electronic Chemical Corp., said: “A clear competitive advantage for AUECC is the ownership of a large percentage of its raw material chain. The advanced process technologies at this facility put AUECC at the forefront as a solution provider to leading-edge manufacturing. AUECC’s facilities in Taiwan and China manufacture and sell a broad range of ultrapure chemicals to the growing regional and world wide microelectronics industries, including wet process chemicals, specialty blends and CMP (chemical mechanical planarisation) related products.

In recent years AUECC has taken the leading position of chemicals supplied to the photovoltaic cell manufacturing market, currently supporting over 3 Giga watts of annual PV cell production with products including advanced proprietary chemicals that enhance cell performance.

BOCLienHwa is a joint venture between The Linde Group, a world leading gases and engineering group, and Taiwan’s Lien Hwa Industrial Corporation, offering gases, gas supply systems and services for numerous applications in semiconductor, solar cell, and TFT-LCD production.
