SAN JOSE, USA: Integrated Device Technology Inc. (IDT) has surpassed 1 million shipments of its PanelPort devices.
“This is a major milestone for IDT and for DisplayPort as it helps substantiate what we have believed all along — that DisplayPort is a strong, viable display interface,” said Ji Park, vice president and general manager of the Video and Display Operation at IDT. “By reaching this milestone, customers can be reassured that DisplayPort is being rapidly adopted and that IDT will continue to develop innovative solutions that take advantage of the many benefits of DisplayPort.”
The IDT PanelPort family of DisplayPort-compatible receivers and timing controllers (TCONs) for flat panel displays offer original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) increased digital signal integrity by significantly reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) on monitor or display device interfaces by utilizing IDT spread spectrum clocking technology.
The PanelPort family is able to achieve this level of digital signal integrity through its unique incorporation of in-house customizable serializer/deserializer (SerDes) and industry leading IDT serial interface and timing technologies.
The IDT customized PanelPort solution, which includes an embedded TCON for notebook applications, is architected to improve performance by extending battery life and reducing power consumption through optimal thermal management, thus enabling further differentiation for the flat panel display market.
