Broadcom Foundation launches website

IRVINE, USA: Broadcom Foundation has launched www.broadcomfoundation.org, paving the way for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education program funding and grants for 2011 and beyond.

Created in 2009, Broadcom Foundation supports STEM education and research, as well as community organizations supporting STEM education, and health and human services in communities where Broadcom employees live and work.

The website for Broadcom Foundation will be the portal for online applications by education and non-profit organizations that meet the guidelines for STEM education and community support. As part of Broadcom Foundation's commitment to environmental sustainability, only online applications will be accepted.

Highlights/key facts of Broadcom Foundation:
* Supports STEM education from kindergarten through post-graduate level.
* Seeks to close the STEM education gap for women and minorities and supports diversity through the creation of opportunities for qualified students to pursue STEM careers.
* Supports qualified non-profit health and human service organizations in communities where Broadcom employees live and work.
* Identifies opportunities for volunteering and civic engagement by Broadcom Corporation's more than 7,400 employees in their communities throughout the world.
