ACME Portable Machines supports Intel Xeon 5600 processor

2010 NAB Show, AZUSA, USA: ACME Portable Machines Inc., a leading provider of rugged portable computers, rugged tablets/notebooks, and industrial LCD keyboard drawers, announced the support of the Xeon 5600 series CPUs from Intel in its legendary EMP 370 and EMP 390 models.

The 3D professionals are now able to leverage Intel’s efficient processors to better perform computer-aided design, digital content creation, and simulation out in the field.

According to Intel, Xeon 5600 processor is the most secure data center processor with a 32nm process technology-based enterprise-class CPU that integrates robust security capabilities which enhance data integrity and server virtualization. The Intel’ Xeon 5600 processor can deliver up to 60 percent better performance than the previous generation processors.

It is the first six-core embedded computing processors drive unparallel performance for connected devices. This is currently the highest-end desktop processor offering stunning performance for digital content creation, 3-D rendering, massive multitasking and extreme gaming.

ACME’s EMP 370 and EMP 390 portable platforms fully support Xeon 5600 processor from Intel providing professionals with a great boost of performance and functionality.

The EMP series systems are designed to provide efficient cooling and smart thermal management for server grade processors just like the Xeon® family CPUs. Also integrated in EMP 370 and EMP 390 are fast DDR III memory and high internal storage with SAS connections. This combination of portability and performance is yet seen in the portable computing market today.
