Intel joins MoCA as promoter member

USA: Intel Corp. has joined the Multimedia over Coax Alliance, MoCA, as a Promoter member. Jim Crammond, CTO of Gateway Solutions within Intel's Service Provider Division, will represent Intel on the Board of Directors.

Intel has been a Contributor level member for a number of years and has been instrumental in helping the Alliance and the technology gain traction among pay TV operators worldwide. Contributor level members are eligible to participate in all MoCA work groups and have voting rights. Promoters also serve on the Board of Directors and are involved in all aspects of managing and guiding the Alliance.

"Intel understands the value of a reliable home networking backbone and the Board is looking forward to their insight as we roll out MoCA 2.0," said Charles Cerino, MoCA president.

"Intel believes MoCA is an important home networking technology that helps operators and OEMs deliver better consumer experiences. Our continued participation in the Alliance shows our commitment to its evolution and adoption," said Crammond.
