Altis supports Agilent’s momentum for RF and high-performance processes

CORBEIL ESSONNES, FRANCE: Altis Semiconductor, the innovative European based specialty foundry, announced support for Agilent Technologies’ Momentum 3D planar electromagnetic (EM) simulator as part of the Altis RF Design Platform for its 0.18µm and 0.13µm processes. The qualification of Momentum for Altis's RF processes is part of a long-term collaboration between the two companies to accelerate customers' RF IP development time.

Agilent’s Momentum is a powerful 3D planar electromagnetic simulator for RF passive component design and analysis of high frequency effects related to on-chip interconnects and other layout structures. Momentum is seamlessly integrated into the Cadence Virtuoso Platform.

"One of Altis' strength is the ability to develop customers' dedicated technology derivatives for RF CMOS applications,” said Gianmaria Mazzucchelli, Altis Semiconductor’s VP Design Center. "Our customers require dedicated RF design flow support to handle the advanced challenges of today's sophisticated RF designs. Support for Momentum provides our customers access to Agilent's proven expertise in RF and microwave design. As a next step, we have started to qualify Agilent's GoldenGate RFIC circuit simulation, analysis and verification tools and are planning to support this in our PDKs later this year."

“We have collaborated with Altis for quite some time and I’m very pleased that we have reached yet another milestone,” said Juergen Hartung, foundry program manager of Agilent’s EEsof EDA organization. “With the qualification of Momentum, our customers can now enjoy the industry’s most popular EM analysis support within Altis's RF processes to increase performance, consistency and yield.”
