CAMARILLO, USA: Semtech Corp., a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, announced that Time & Frequency Solutions (TFS) has selected the company’s ToPSync IEEE1588v2 product platform as its primary choice of synchronization technology and will integrate the devices into its IP-enabled precision time delivery product line.
“Time & Frequency Solutions has selected Semtech’s ToPSync for our P.T.P. IEEE1588 time delivery platform and the technology is integral to our future product families,” said Neil Pitman, Managing Director of TFS, a UK company with more than 30 years of experience with time, frequency and synchronization system design.
“We have worked very closely with Semtech for several years to ensure the performance and reliability of the solution. Semtech is undoubtedly leading the market in silicon solutions, but not everyone can make use of that today. We are pleased to be able to offer a leading solution enabling wireless carriers to realize the significant cost and efficiency savings offered by full IP backhaul. This is a new and exciting opportunity for us that complements our existing offerings.

TFS is currently using ToPSync in its PTP80 grandmaster product along with its PTP Slave Network Time Client.
