USA: Mentor Graphics Corp. announced expanded embedded Linux development support for Freescale QorIQ devices with the Mentor Embedded Linux and Sourcery CodeBench products.
Embedded developers can make use of a commercially supported Linux solution that incorporates the recent release of Freescale’s QorIQ software development kits (SDKs) which are compatible with Yocto Project 1.2. The Yocto Project is a Linux Foundation open source initiative that provides standardized tools and resources for custom Linux systems based on any hardware architecture. The Mentor Embedded Linux product tracks and supports the latest versions of the Yocto Project including version 1.2 and version 1.3.
“Mentor is a preferred embedded software partner, and we recognize Mentor’s leadership in the open source development community,” said Michael O'Donnell, director of software ecosystem alliances, Freescale Semiconductor. “Mentor Embedded Linux for Freescale’s advanced multicore QorIQ products are ideal to help our customers deliver reliable and high performance systems to market.”
The Mentor Embedded Linux product expands board support package (BSP) support to the following Freescale devices:
* MPC8536DS, MPC8544DS, MPC8548CDS, MPC8572DS.
* P1010/14RDB, P1020/11RDB, P1020UTM, P1020MBG, P1022/13DS, P1023/17RDS, P1024/15RDB, P1021/12RDB, P1025/16RDB.
* P2020/10RDB, P2041RDB
* P3041DS, P4080/40DS, P5020/10DS, P5040/21DS
