INDIA: STMicroelectronics, one of the world’s top semiconductor chip makers, today announced it had been recognized for its achievements in ‘Sustainability’ by Nokia, the world leader in mobile communications.
Nokia presented its award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in the Category of Sustainability’ to ST at Nokia World 2010 in London, during the Nokia ‘Collaboration Day.’
“Nokia and STMicroelectronics have worked closely together over many years, sharing concepts and best practices for sustainability, most intensely within the area of environmental protection,” said Jean-Francois Baril, senior VP and head of Sourcing, Nokia. “This award acknowledges STMicroelectronics’ outstanding commitment and efforts in sustainable business practices.”
“The long-term partnership between ST and Nokia has its roots in integrity in business conduct, state-of-the-art technology and product portfolio, and the dedication of people.” said Andrea Cuomo, executive VP, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Region, STMicroelectronics.
“An award of this nature from a world-leading company such as Nokia is a very significant recognition of ST’s efforts to accomplish excellence in sustainability in its business operations. ST’s continually endeavors to achieve excellence in quality, customer satisfaction and world-class environmental performance.”
