Semicon industry veteran joins iSuppli’s automotive research group

EL SEGUNDO, USA: Further enhancing its industry-leading automotive electronics research team , market research firm iSuppli Corp. has hired veteran semiconductor executive Luca De Ambroggi in the position of senior analyst.

Leading the iSuppli Automotive Infotainment Components and Devices Portals, De Ambroggi will conduct ongoing research and analysis as it relates to the future trends of semiconductor usage in the automotive industry. De Ambroggi also will support iSuppli’s growing European automotive client base.

“Luca brings a wealth of technical and supply chain knowledge to iSuppli automotive research services,” said Phil Magney, vice president of iSuppli’s Automotive Practice. “We are pleased to have him join our team.”

De Ambroggi brings 16 years of experience as a semiconductor technical marketing and product manager for a variety of applications, including the utilization of flash memory in automotive and consumer electronics. He will be based in iSuppli’s Munich, Germany, office—which is also home to iSuppli’s sensors and components group. De Ambroggi speaks fluent English, German and Italian.

Starting his career as a design engineer with STMicroelectronics, De Ambroggi has since held various technical and marketing positions with Qimonda and Infineon Technologies.

He holds a degree in electrical engineering from Catania University in Italy.
