HSINCHU, TAIWAN: Cadence Design Systems Inc. has signed an agreement with Realtek Semiconductor Corp., a leading IC design house in Taiwan, that establishes Cadence as Realtek's strategic electronic design automation (EDA) solutions provider.
“Our relationship with Cadence enables us to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving communications network market with fully integrated EDA products and technologies,” said Chao-Cheng Lee, vice president of Engineering at Realtek.
“Cadence has proven to be the reliable collaborator and provides both analog and digital solutions as well as the interoperability that we require to help us achieve better design efficiency and outstanding performance.”
The depth and breadth of capabilities and alignment of vision that Cadence brings to this strategic relationship will be a tremendous strength to Realtek.
Realtek has selected Cadence products across its digital and analog/mixed-signal (AMS) design platform portfolios, as well as its Incisive Enterprise Simulator for front-end low-power simulation and verification, Encounter Conformal Low Power for power optimization, Encounter Conformal ECO Designer for increased automation and predictability, and Encounter Digital Implementation System and Encounter Timing System for implementing, debugging and analyzing designs with significant gains in productivity.
Realtek was particularly impressed with the improved design efficiency contributed by Encounter Conformal ECO Designer.
In addition, Cadence provides a comprehensive simulation solution that combines industry-leading SPICE, FastSPICE, RF, and mixed-signal simulators. Virtuoso Schematic Editor, Virtuoso Analog Design Environment and Virtuoso XL Layout Editor will deliver broader capabilities to speed custom IC design, and also enable tremendously fast and silicon-accurate designs for Realtek.
With this stable and reliable source of automated IC design products to strengthen its portfolio, Realtek has a strategic approach to increasing operational effectiveness and extending its leadership position as an IC design innovator.
“I am excited about extending our work with Realtek to that of a strategic relationship for accelerating the development of a wide range of communications networking devices,” said Willis Chang, country manager of Cadence Taiwan.
“As Realtek’s strategic EDA solutions partner, Cadence will continuously invest digital and AMS engineering resources to broaden our involvement in the Taiwan semiconductor ecosystem and deliver differentiated and value-added solutions to all of our customers.”
