AMD selects Attivio active intelligence engine for global campaign management

NEWTON, USA: Attivio Inc. announced that AMD has chosen the Attivio Active Intelligence Engine (AIE) to address a variety of information management initiatives.

The initial deployment of AIE is expected to enhance the search capabilities of AMD's public website and help manage global web promotions, including the ability to prioritize query results based on specific campaigns.

Attivio's Active Intelligence Engine makes corporate information assets fully searchable by combining disparate data sources into a single index, as well as providing linguistic processing such as entity extraction and sentiment analysis.

Attivio AIE retains explicit data relationships as well as identifying implicit ones, ensuring that the aggregated information is intelligent and relational – which in turn helps ensure that users quickly get the answers they need.

"We needed a new approach to information access that extended beyond traditional search capabilities," said Gregg Hansen, vice president, Applications, AMD. "The relational nature of Attivio's Active Intelligence Engine gives us the ability to formulate queries that understand associations between various content objects to help render results with better relevancy, and also provides the tailored functionality we needed.

"AIE pulls content from multiple information repositories including our knowledge base, databases and product catalogs to provide more complete information in response to our users' requests, and helps us better target promotional campaigns."
