Tata Elxsi joins GENIVI Alliance

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Tata Elxsi, a leader in embedded product design and technology services, and part of the $70 billion Tata group, announced that it is now an Associate Member of the globally recognized GENIVI Alliance.

The Alliance is a non-profit industry formed association of Automotive, Consumer Electronic & Communications companies and is committed to driving the broad adoption of an In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) reference platform.

Consumers today want to access entertainment, information, & location-based services on-demand and real-time wherever they are, including within cars. This demands convergence of diverse technologies including multimedia, wireless, communication and navigation.

Automobile manufacturers and their suppliers must develop, test, deploy and support IVI products and services across multiple automobile models and generations, which is becoming increasingly complex and expensive as the rate of technology innovation and number of applications continues to expand exponentially.

Nitin Pai, VP-Marketing, Tata Elxsi, said: "Our membership allows us to couple our extensive technology, development and integration expertise for multimedia and wireless communications with in-depth experience of advanced research and product development of automotive systems. Our familiarity with the GENIVI platform will provide our clients with access to world-class product development and technology integration experience to help create differentiated and unique solutions and services, enabling reusability and reducing time-to-market and development costs."

Tata Elxsi works with leading automotive OEMs, suppliers and silicon vendors for embedded software and product development for infotainment, body, safety and powertrain electronics.

As an Automotive SPICE Level 5 certified vendor and a premium member with AUTOSAR, Tata Elxsi strategically partners with leading OEMs and suppliers to increase innovation, manage globalization and reduce product development lifecycles and time to market.
