ALBUQUERQUE, USA: Cummins and Innovasic have signed a long term strategic supply agreement whereby Innovasic will develop and supply a mixed signal custom ASIC for use in future models of Cummins diesel engines.
“Innovasic is very pleased to have been selected by Cummins as a partner for development of this new ASIC,” said Keith Prettyjohns, Innovasic CEO. “We are a well known developer and supplier of replacement integrated circuits that help customers manage obsolescence issues on existing products. This new agreement is our third chip development contract with Cummins and expands our relationship, enabling us to supply Cummins with a critical application-specific semiconductor for their new engine control modules,” he concluded.
“Engine control modules are an extremely critical component in our diesel engines and we are very careful in selecting vendors,” said Scot Harker, Cummins Assistant Chief Engineer, Fuel Systems.
“Innovasic was selected as a strategic supplier by Cummins because they have a proven track record for both developing and supplying reliable integrated circuits to support critical automotive requirements. The level of expertise in their organization, and their policy of providing long term supply for their products, provides advantages from which we expect to benefit,” he concluded.
