NEWPORT BEACH, USA: Conexant Systems Inc., a leading supplier of innovative semiconductor solutions for imaging, audio, embedded modem, and video surveillance applications, announced the CX92255, a highly integrated system-on-chip (SoC) capable of supporting most printing technologies including tandem color laser multi-function printers (MFPs). The launch of this new controller marks the 11th generation of innovation in desktop printing technology from Conexant.
Featuring market-proven hardware-accelerated image processing technologies with industry-leading color copying speeds of up to 40 pages per minute, the CX92255 SoC has a powerful ARM Cortex A8 microprocessor core with NEON technology. This delivers the processing power required for raster image processing (RIP) for page description languages (PDLs), which improves laser printing speeds for complex text and graphics.
A customizable controller for all-in-one printers, the CX92255 features new enhancements which enable market-leading scanning performance and quality, with the flexibility to support various scanner modules for a wide-range of MFPs. The CX92255 supports simplex and duplex scanning, has an LVDS interface and includes enhancements in motor control.
The new SoC also offers a memory card controller, programmable LCD interface, touchscreen support, and the ability to boot from serial NOR or NAND Flash, as well as optional software for V.34 fax capability. Finally, the CX92255 features DDR3 and Gigabit Ethernet.
“The CX92255 is a flagship product from Conexant that sets a new bar in desktop printing,” said Sailesh Chittipeddi, president and CEO, Conexant. “With the highest level of integration as well as enhancements in imaging, printer engine, scanning interfaces and low power modes, such as Wake-on-LAN (WOL), the CX92255 is an ideal solution for mid- to high-end desktop color laser and Inkjet MFP devices.”
